WHS - Foods I
This is an introductory class to exploring food preparation. In this class we cover, Safety & Sanitation, Food Preparation, Food storage, Careers in the Food industry and Etiquette. This class offers hands-on experience through kitchen lab settings. Any students interested in pursuing a career in the Foods Industry encouraged to take Foods & Nutrition II upon completion of Foods I.
Topics we will discuss :
- Safety & Sanitation
- Food Preparation
- Food selection and storage
- Proper food and Kitchen Ettiquette.
Supplies Needed:
* 1 inch 3-ring binder
* Pencil /Pen
* Note cards
** Clean baseball hat or hair net (per Food Code policy)

This class will also offer students a hands-on experience through real life kitchen lab settings.
Students wishing to enter into Foods & Nutrition II must complete Foods I in order to meet prerequisites.
STATE Final exam and Servsafe Course exam are REQUIRED
